The table lists each hotel’s area, from-price, what the plan includes and who it says it’s for. It’s ordered by how often people search for each hotel, not by price or rating.

Each place is here because a checked source backs it: its own site, its booking page or its map listing gives its kind, price or who it suits. Not ranked: most searched first. A dash means our sources don't say. Each value comes from the sources listed at the end of this page.

“All-inclusive” here is a board basis, not a kind of hotel: each stay in the table says on its own site or a booking site that it sells an all-inclusive plan. Zuri Zanzibar, for example, starts from half board (breakfast and dinner)3 and adds an all-inclusive supplement on request4.

For guesthouses, town stays and everything else, head back to where to stay. For higher-end stays more broadly, see our page on luxury resorts in Zanzibar.

Pick your beach

Nungwi, Kendwa, Kiwengwa or Matemwe

Picking an all-inclusive hotel also means picking a beach, and the hotels in the table spread along the north and east of the island.

Kendwa: a couple of miles from Nungwi5

  • Nungwi: a resort town on the northern tip of the island5. Hotel Riu Jambo and Hotel Riu Palace Zanzibar both sit on Nungwi Beach6. More on Nungwi’s beach and resorts.
  • Kendwa Beach: a small fishing village a couple of miles from Nungwi5, home to Zuri Zanzibar.
  • Kiwengwa: TUI BLUE Bahari Zanzibar is in the Kiwengwa / Pwani Mchangani area on Zanzibar’s east coast7. Read more about Kiwengwa.
  • Matemwe: The Mora and Matemwe Attitude both face this stretch of coast. See our guide to Matemwe.

The Mora Zanzibar Luxury All Inclusive calls itself a luxury resort8 and sits on Muyuni Beach in Matemwe9.

Meals and drinks

What the all-inclusive plans cover

Families or couples

Who all-inclusive suits, and who it doesn’t

All-inclusive suits families and couples who plan to spend most days at the hotel, and several hotels set themselves up around children.

Riu Palace: family hotel since 1 November 202517

It suits:

  • Families with young children: Hotel Riu Jambo runs a kids’ club for ages 4 to 7 and 8 to 1211, and TUI BLUE Bahari welcomes children of all ages12.
  • Families who want calm water: Zuri Zanzibar says Kendwa beach has safe swimming all year3.
  • Couples who’d rather skip the kids’ club: Matemwe Attitude calls itself an adults-only villa hotel15.
  • Honeymooners with a bigger budget: Kilindi, on Zanzibar’s northern coast, is pitched at honeymooners and couples, with fully inclusive rates covering all meals and selected drinks16.

It suits less:

  • Couples hoping for a child-free RIU: Priceline says Hotel Riu Palace Zanzibar became a family hotel on 1 November 202517.
  • Families eyeing Matemwe Attitude: Expert Africa lists it as adults only18.
  • Travellers on a tight budget: Wikivoyage notes Zanzibar does not offer much cheap accommodation5, and all-inclusive sits at the top of that market.

Rates and seasons

Prices and the dearest months

If the budget matters, book away from December19, when hotel prices are at their highest.

Hotel prices peak in December19

  • Matemwe Attitude · Hotel's own from-rate, no dates given from US$216
  • TUI BLUE Bahari Zanzibar · Halalbooking, per room per night from US$278
  • Hotel Riu Palace Zanzibar · HalalBooking and Priceline, per night for two US$343 – US$344
  • Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort · Halalbooking, per room per night from US$617
  • Zuri Zanzibar · HalalBooking; half board is the base plan from US$929

From-prices in US dollars as each site lists them; search dates differ, and city tax is extra.

The rest of the year splits like this:

  • July19 is peak season, with high prices and many visitors.
  • February19 counts as low season for hotel rates.

In euros, Halalbooking lists Meliá Zanzibar from €344 for a 2-guest, 1-night search in November 202620. TUI BLUE’s lowest 7-night hotel-only offers run from £493 per person (April and May 2027) (checked October 2026) to £994 (October 2026)7.

Deciding

Is all-inclusive worth it in Zanzibar?

All-inclusive is worth it if you’ll mostly stay at the hotel: the RIU plans cover meals, drinks, snacks and entertainment around the clock. It pays off less if you plan days out.

Inbound insurance: US$44 per person25

Whatever the plan, budget for these on top:

  • City tax of USD 5.00 per person per night24, listed by HalalBooking at Riu Palace and the others.
  • Zanzibar’s mandatory inbound insurance at US$44 per person25.
  • Airport transfers: TUI BLUE Bahari arranges a private one for about US$80 each way7.

If you do leave the pool for a day, the Mnemba boat trip and dolphin snorkel from Kendwa picks up from Kendwa and Nungwi.

Questions people ask

Which TUI holidays offer all-inclusive stays in Zanzibar?

TUI's own TUI BLUE Bahari Zanzibar, in Kiwengwa / Pwani Mchangani, sells an all-inclusive plan. Its lowest 7-night hotel-only offers ran from £493 to £994 per person.

What is the best all-inclusive resort in Zanzibar?

This guide doesn't rank them, as none has been reviewed in person. Families get kids' clubs at the RIU hotels and play spaces at The Mora; Matemwe Attitude is adults-only.

Can you cancel an all-inclusive booking for free?

Often, yes: Booking.com says most all-inclusive stays it lists offer free cancellation. Check each rate before you pay.
